When you’re meal planning, the secret to quickly coming up with ideas for dinner without eating the same thing over and over is about planning and organization.
And while some people think it takes forever, the truth is you can do it in minutes.
And since Pinterest is the best place to pin and organize your favorite recipes, why not use it to meal plan.
That said, today I want to share my easy-to-pin meal plan technique. Not only can you save time, meal planning helps you save money while keeping you and your family well fed.
Here’s How to Save Money with Pinterest
- Go to your Pinterest account.
- Add a pin or repin a favorite recipe to a category you create.
You are able to add the category after you select the pin you want to add or repin.
I typed in “Chicken” in the bottom box to create the new category.
- Then you have to push the create button in the lower right corner.
The red box below is either blank ( if you are adding the pin) or has words written by another pinner. You can change the words.
I like to type in the ingredients to the recipe. This way, I can quickly peek at what I need without having to leave Pinterest. It serves as a mini grocery list. I can access it from my phone when I am out.
Once the category is created for the new board, you can begin adding new pins. Pinterest usually keeps you in the same category that you last pinned. All of the new pins you add or repin will go under that category, unless you change it with the drop down menu. You can access it by the arrow on the right side of the word “chicken” below.
Once you have finished pinning your desired recipes, go look at all of the recipes at once. At the top right of the screen you should see the words, “add”, “about and an icon with your Pinterest user name. Go to that drop down menu and click on boards. Find the board you pinned all of the recipes.
You can easily pick out meals at a glance. This will also help other members of the family get involved. If you have kids, they can access this visual menu to choose what they would like to eat. Have them be involved in the planning process. You can also use this to see what you already have at home before you go to the store.
If you like this free information, you should share it with your friends. That’s a fair trade, right?
